Smoking
Cessation. Alcohol Abuse. Peer Pressure. Violence. Depression.
Self Esteem. Conflict Resolution. Saying No. Students today
have more to deal with than before and they have to start
dealing with serious issues at a younger age now as well.
Education and access to information on substance abuse and
related issues, at any age, can benefit students by helping
them make better and safer choices.
The
Audio Health Library was developed by IDAP Information Systems
in conjunction with some of the most recognized health organizations
in the world, such as the National Institute on Drug Abuse,
the National Mental Health Association, the National Institute
on Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse, and Partnership for a Drug
Free America, to name just a few. It was developed in 1981
as part of the Just Say No campaign.
Through
the years, IDAPs Audio Health Library has developed
to include several hundred topics from alcoholism to peer
pressure to anger management. As issues such as HIV or domestic
violence have become more prevalent in our society, the IDAP
library has grown to reflect todays information needs.
The
Audio Health Library enables people of all ages and education
levels to listen to informational messages on a variety of
topics in an anonymous and confidential nature. Being available
24/7 also means that people can listen to this information
when they need it the most -- on their own time schedule.
In addition to listening to informational messages on a variety
of topics, the caller can also listen to referral
information on where to go for more information or for assistance.
Through
the Audio Health Library, important information is at your
students fingertips at all times.
